Where you can play TypeBag
TypeBag is a 1v1 typing race for money: two players type the same 30–60 second passage, and the faster, more accurate typist takes 90% of the pot. It is free to try with no account, or staked at $1–$10 in USDC on Solana.
TypeBag is available in most countries and in most US states. A small number of places are blocked outright, in three categories, and the list below mirrors the Terms of Service, which is the authoritative version if the two ever disagree.
Blocked: Romania
The country TypeBag is incorporated in. Blocking your own home market looks odd until you consider that operating a paid-contest platform from inside a jurisdiction while also serving it brings the operation directly within that regulator's scope. Staying out of it keeps the question simple.
Blocked: sanctioned countries and regions
Places subject to comprehensive economic sanctions: currently including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, Venezuela and Myanmar, along with the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and any other jurisdiction designated by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control, the European Union or the United Nations.
This is not a judgement about the people who live there. It is a legal requirement on any platform moving money, and there is no discretion in it.
Blocked: nine US states
The United States is served, with the exception of states where paid skill-based contests are restricted or unlawful under state law: Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota and Tennessee.
Note what this category is and is not. These states are not saying typing races are gambling: the restriction applies to paid contests as a class, regardless of whether skill decides the outcome. The distinction between skill and chance is explained on skill vs chance; it is a real distinction, and it does not override state law.
The block covers the whole site, free tier included
If you are in a blocked location you get a notice instead of the site, and that applies to free play too. There is no version where the free tier is available but the paid tiers are not: the restriction is on access to the platform, not on the stake you choose.
Don't try to get around it
Attempting to circumvent geographic restrictions, with a VPN or by any other means, is a material breach of the Terms, and can result in account closure and forfeiture of disputed balances pending review. We are not going to explain workarounds, and if you are in a blocked location, the honest answer is that TypeBag is not for you right now.
This list can change
Restricted jurisdictions may change without notice, in either direction. The Terms of Service always carry the current authoritative list; this page mirrors it in plainer language.
